Intro to Writing

English 1010 

   I took English 1010 as part of my General Education and as a prerequisite for the Nursing Program

 Reflection:

   In this project we took a controversial subject and conducted research to gain a better knowledge of our subject matter. We kept a journal of all research done, short summaries of what we found, where we found it and by whom it was written. I found the journal to be extremely helpful when writing my paper, it was nice having all my research in one place and all information pertaining to that particular article there in the event I had to go back and do further reading. We also worked heavily on writing in MLA format and how to properly cite when using information found by someone other than ourselves.

   I found this project to be a helpful learning experience. I can already see the difference in my writing from prior to this class till now. I have learned so much on how to conduct research and cite my findings, as well as a few grammar lessons that I am sure to make use of.  I truly wish I would have taken this class my first semester at SLCC, the knowledge gained from the class is sure to be a valuable assent in my classes to come.
